How It Works

What to Expect from Your Session with Boo & Bertie

Booking a photography session for your pet might feel like stepping into the unknown—but don’t worry, I’ll walk you through it all, start to finish. Here's how a photo session with me unfolds—from first hello to final portrait.

1. Get in Touch

Had a good look around and think we might be a good fit? Great—just click the button below to send me a message.

We’ll find a date that works for both of us, and once your session is confirmed, I’ll send over the booking details.

The session fee is £90, which includes:

  • Up to an hour of relaxed photography

  • One mounted 10x8" image (presented in a 12x10" mount, ready to frame)

  • Your booking date secured in the calendar

You’ll also have the option to choose your location:

  • Our peaceful Garden Studio in Berkshire, a calm and comfortable space with gentle studio lighting—ideal for relaxed, timeless portraits

  • Or an outdoor session in one of our favourite scenic local parks—perfect for energetic dogs who love to explore

Whichever setting you choose, every image is professionally edited to bring out the very best in your pet—from every whisker to every wag.

2. Pre-Session Consultation

A week or two before your shoot, we’ll have a quick consultation—by phone or email, whichever suits you best.

It’s a chance to:

  • Talk through any ideas or looks you’d like to capture

  • Chat about your pet’s personality, habits, or anything I should be aware of

  • Go over what to expect on the day, and how to prepare

You’re welcome to bring along your own treats—especially if there’s something your pet can’t resist. That said, I do have specially made liver cake on hand, which usually works a charm!

If you’ve got any special Collars, Bow Ties, Jumpers or T-shirts you’d like them to wear—feel free to bring those along too. A little extra style never hurts.

3. The Photo Session

This is where we bring it all to life.

Your session will be relaxed, friendly, and completely tailored to your pet. Whether we’re in the studio or out on location, there’s no pressure for perfection—this is about capturing real personality, not perfect poses.

Sessions typically last around an hour, with plenty of time for your pet to settle in, explore the space, and get comfortable in front of the camera. I work at their pace, keeping things calm and enjoyable throughout.

If you’re joining us with a dog, I may need your help now and then—whether it’s giving a familiar command, holding a favourite toy, or just being a reassuring presence. For cats (and the more independent types), it’s all about patience and working with their rhythm.

The goal is to create a stress-free experience for both you and your pet—and capture images that feel natural, honest, and full of character.

4. Viewing & Ordering

Around a week or two after your session, your images will be ready to view.

You’ll have two options:

  • View them online in your own private gallery—from the comfort of home, at a time that suits you

  • Or, if you prefer, you're very welcome to come to my home to view them in person and chat through the options over a cuppa

This is the time to decide how you’d like to enjoy your portraits—whether that’s digital files, prints, or custom wall art. I’ll guide you through the choices and help you find the right fit for your space and style.

Final orders and payment are completed during this stage, so if someone else is helping with the decision, make sure they’re involved too.

5. Products & Pricing

Your session fee of £90 includes:

  • The photo session itself

  • One professionally mounted 10x8" image (in a 12x10" mount, ready to frame)

You can then choose from a selection of digital and print options to suit your needs:
Digital Packages start at £125 for five high-resolution images
Print Packages start at £80 for ten 5x7" prints

We also offer a carefully selected range of beautiful, understated frames—designed to complement your portraits and let the images speak for themselves.

Wall art options and additional products will be available to explore during your viewing appointment, and I’ll guide you through everything when the time comes.
